Hello everyone, I hope you’re well. Here’s a photo of my lemon tree. I pruned it today. I planted the tree, many years ago, when it was 1 foot tall now it’s about 20 feet. I’ve been exceedingly lucky the past two weeks, plant-wise! My girl @SunflowerSunset snagged me this beautiful Aglaonema Pink Emerald, my amazing, kind, thoughtful coworkers gave me this absolutely gorgeous Philodendron Red Anderson for Bosses’ Day, and I found a variegated umbrella tree (my mom has always had one, so I’ve been wanting one for sentimental reasons), and I also scored a very cheap inch plant and Tea Anemone Hoya! $5 each for those two! And, my mom’s friend gave me two cuttings from her Hawaiian Pothos, along with a rooted neon pothos that I’m going to add to my existing one to give it some volume. Plant haul! I came home from my local Take A Plant, Leave A Plant’s plant stand with an armful of new plants. I walked into the living room and stopped when I saw my husband sitting there. He stared at me. I stared at him. My neighbour is such a sweetheart 🥹 It’s my birthday this week and she wanted to get me something, so all I asked for was a clipping from one of her plants!! She ended up giving me loads of clippings from her pothos after insisting that it needed a haircut, and then she kept asking if I wanted anything else and I said no. I made a passing comment about always killing Chinese money plants (of which she has several) and she just gave me one of hers!! And even said that if I kill it then she can give me another 🥹 She also offered up any clippings of things from her garden - which is beautiful might I add. I went to one of my favorite nurseries today for some planty therapy. The #PortlandNursery has two locations, I went to the “smaller one,” which is still 5 acres of retail space, and I had a gift card! 😱 Except I forgot to use it. If you’re ever in Oregon I highly recommend. I got to look around the rare plant “collectors cabinet” area for some pictures too. MY VERY FIRST MONSTERA!!! On my birthday I was taken to my favorite local small plant shop. I looked around for quite a while and I found a tray under a grow light that said “$6” I took a look at the plants on the tray and found little baby monsteras. Right before I spotted the baby monsteras I was JUST telling my partner how I’ve always wanted to try to grow a monstera but I’m so intimidated of killing one after spending tons of money on one. After I seen that tray my partner looked at the tray then back at me and said “you gotta get one now. They’re only $6!” And, well, here we are. Any tips, tricks, suggestions, advice, etc? I’m hoping I can grow this little guy into a magnificent iconic Monstera! I named him Tuesday because that was the day of my birthday when I adopted him💜. Hey #GregGang! Just got back from Home Depot with some gorgeous new plants! Finally got that second peace Lily! I went to Walmart today while I was waiting for an update on my husband’s surgery (hospital was across the street from Walmart) and I decided to wander through the garden center. I found a croton Petra for $7 (which was the exact plant that I’ve been wanting for my kitchen window sill) AND a mini monstera for $7 too! And someone—idk who—may or may not have “rescued” a cutting from a golden pothos, specifically a stem that was badly damaged and would’ve probably been pruned anyway. And then someone—maybe the same person, maybe not—thought of a way to keep that golden pothos cutting damp until they could get it home to put it in water. #NewPlants #PlantHaul #GregGang #PlantRescue #PropagationStation
