After dealing with insane amounts of gnats due to my new plants… I can confidently say THEY ARE DONE WITH! It’s been about 4 weeks of intense treatments & caring. The first two weeks I watered my plants with a 1 to 4 ratio of hydrogen peroxide (3%) to water. And the last two weeks I watered my plants with mosquito bits. I kept sticky traps on all my plants to monitor the gnats & the new ones I replaced after the first two weeks have no gnats :) I also kept a blue light on at night and the one I used during the first two weeks was CAKED with gnats. And the one I replaced it with has like 5 on there. I also let my plants dry out completely between the last use of hydrogen peroxide and the first use of mosquito bits. My grow lights came!! As my collection has grown and I've run out of window space to keep my babies, I've purchased my first set of grow lights. I have 2 positioned so far, one over my #monstera and one over my newest large edition, my #whitebirdofparadise (I found her for $15!!!) I LOVE the setup in my living room! With quite a few tropical plants throughout my home, I don't think misting is going to cut it anymore, so #greggang, is there a favorite humidifier anyone can recommend? #plantcare #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantcareisselfcare #happyplants

Happy WEEKEND!! What’s everyone up to? My plans are to offer Monty some support. I got a trellis and some soft rubber ties for him. I read to start doing this when they are young so off I go today on that. Also, my lipstick plant Gaga seemed to have gotten some fungus last week. I moved her over about 5 feet to a different hanging spot so as not to spread anything to my other babies and treated her with copper fungicide, pruned infected leaves and BOOM she is doing so much better! #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #NewPlantMom #PlantTherapy #plantcare #GregGang

I am devastated… I turn to this small community because I feel that, otherwise, no one will understand me. This morning, when I woke up, I saw that several of my most delicate plants had fallen on top of each other, leaving dozens of leaves scattered on the floor. Among them was a plant I had been trying for years to grow beautifully, tall, and lush—the pilea. I’ve attempted to care for this plant about four times before. This time, I thought I had finally succeeded. It had grown to an enormous height, with many leaves and countless little offshoots. Seeing this plant grow made me feel incredible; I was so proud. My previous pileas had always ended up looking bad or dying, whether from summer heat, falls, lack of water, or pests. Well, today I have to say goodbye to all that progress because this morning, my beautiful pilea lost more than ten leaves. The same happened with some new leaves from my Anthurium crystallinum, Begonia, and Ficus. Lately, I feel like I’m losing faith in keeping plants. Too many leaves are dying compared to the ones that are growing. They demand so much work from me, and I don’t feel like it’s being rewarded. I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong. Guys.. 🥺🥺my polka dot is flowering.. But the problem is it is getting a lot of leaves wilting.. Is it just old leaves or ther's something wrong? 🥺 I didn't repotted it since I got it from nursery and the last it been watered was almost 10 or 11 feb.. But it's soil is still moist.. Here is my an update on my thai constellation. I repotted her yesterday she has beautiful roots. I pulled out any bad roots and repotted with her aroid soil so it is well draining. I have not watered he yet. I took off a leaf since it just kept declining. Should I take off the leave that has been trimmed that is still struggling? I’m so confused by this plant!
