So Iā€™ve decided to try this again. I want to grow sugarcanes in pots. Does anyone else have some suggestions or experience growing these? Iā€™m so happy. I transplanted this earlier this fall; it had struggled a little from growing in a small container. At the time, all I had was a larger pot, so I figured Iā€™d try it. Itā€™s taken a while, but itā€™s finally growing back beautifully! Hello #GregFam, haven't updated things on my side for a while. Just some quick plant updates! Hoya 'Rebecca', my first ever Hoya is doing marvellous! Exploded with new growth and another round of blooms, plus more peduncs on their way! This is a massive new leaf on a Philo 'Paraiso Verde'. Just so you know, this baby is not on a pole, plus it gets afternoon AND evening sun on sunny days. Mother Nepenthes x 'Gaya' with new pitchers as the old ones fade. There's something lovely about new pitchers. Any advise? 1. A friend gave me a huge fenestrated monstera, that was in dirt, do I put it in dirt? Can I add it in water? 2. Long story short, I cut up 5 monsteras, all the way to the stem, with roots,so I add these in water or dirt? 3. Why are the leaves yellow and becoming crusty on the monsteras in the vase cuttings? Any advice? I donā€™t want to remove them, donā€™t have much space since itā€™s the winter for nowā€¦ 4. Why the heck is my monstera becoming yellow?? Yesterday it was green, now itā€™s yellow, I watered it because it was time. I rarely post pictures of my palms, just because I feel like everyone pretty much has a palm or something similar. These are ponytails; they summer outside in a semi-shaded porch area, then they overwinter in my plant room. But I started adding silica to the water, and I do believe they are LOVING IT šŸ„° Which makes me so happy! Good morning #TheWateringHole plant friends! šŸŖ“ šŸŒ±. Itā€™s Tuesday and a chilly 45 degrees here right nowšŸ„¶ but sunā€™s out so things will warm up soon! Pearl šŸ• has the right idea ā˜€ļø! A few things going on. The ficus had very dusty leaves so got a full shower outside while the afternoon sunshine warmed him up. Love how green and glossy they get šŸ„°. My Hope peperomia longest tendrils are yellowing at the top so I cut them back to see if we can direct the energy closer and not going down 3 foot vines, fingers crossed šŸ¤ž Here are her cuttings. I havenā€™t water propped Hope peperomia before. Is it pretty successful or is there a way youā€™ve found better?? I definitely think my silica is making a difference! The results are INCREDIBLE with my African milk tree (this particular one, I forgot to get photos of my big one), but here we go. Please note some of the plants looking droopy, but I promise you, they have bounced back and are totally fine. Hello everyone, I hope you are well. Here are two avocados that I have propagated. I found out that spending them in water isnā€™t very good. In my opinion, putting them in soil with a pointy side of the pit up and about a third of the pit sticking out of the ground works better. While probably getting the avocado pit, remember to put a clear plastic cup over the top it creates a little greenhouse. After itā€™s sprouts remove the cup. This morning I went outside and found a new one about 3 inches tall, which is not in this picture. Happy Fresh New Week! šŸ˜‡ Just sharing a few things: 1) My peace lily loves my office at work! Look at her āœØthrivingāœØ 2) I had my poinsettia outside on the balcony all summer, and brought it in several weeks ago when it began to get cold at night. Well, two weeks or so after that, a lone sunflower sprout appeared in the pot! I was like šŸ¤” but I decided to care for it indoors as best I can, since itā€™s already sprouted! I know it wonā€™t get very big, but itā€™s going to have a nice little life. 3) Anyway, I was watering some plants yesterday and picked up my poinsettiaā€”TWO MORE šŸŒ»šŸŒ» My only explanation is that maybe some birds or a squirrel put them in the pot while it was outdoorsā€¦ but then why didnā€™t they sprout until now? Anyway I guess I have a mini indoor sunflower garden now šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤£šŸæļø 4) #BuddyTheTurtle says hi to all his Greg friends šŸ¢šŸ©· and 5) My #PinkPrincessPhilodendron has two gorgeous little offsets! I canā€™t wait for them to get big enough to be in their own pots.
