My boyfriend got this for me about two or three years ago on my first birthday we shared together. Itās a very special plant to me! She was so small when I first got her compared to now. I have struggled with strings & have had lots of ups & downs with them when it comes to caring for them & keeping them alive, but this baby has always been forgiving with me & has given me grace. š«¶š» & for that I thank her & treat her extra special & extra care to be fragile with her & her delicate long tendrils.. š„¹ I only bottom water her, and I keep her outside until winter in my screened in porch. I have her in a shallow teracotta pot for good drainage. I love her one all white tendril she has, itās so cool to me. Today my grandma had a yard sale, so me & my boyfriend went to help as well as sell some things. We plan to use the money we made for our day trip to Carolina beach tomorrow! š Iām super excited since we havenāt been to the beach in a while & havenāt gone on a trip this year together. Although itās not summer anymore and wonāt be as warm, which means I most likely wonāt be able to get in the water š Iām still happy that I will get to see the water & sand as well as smelling the salt! šļø My grandma was selling these plant stands & since I liked them she gave them to me. ( photos 1&3) she also gave me a pup from her Haworthia since I repotted it for her while I was there. š± I also had a few plants I didnāt sell at the yard sale, so I kept them & repotted them when I got home. Varigated Melon Spurge, her baby is getting so big! If I wanted to ever separate them, how would I go about that? Would I slice it off with a clean tool? Or would I kinda tug and twist it ? Should I wait for it to get bigger ? I normally donāt separate my babies/pups but I would love to have another one of these! 2. Graptoveria āOpalinaā , I love how she is constantly changing colors! 3. Crown Of Thorns āBicolorā , Iām still learning her habits & preferences, I currently have her outside in full sun, and water once a week because she seems to get droopy pretty quick if I donāt. I bottom soak her and let her dry out completely before I water again. Any tips on this one would be appreciated! š± 4. Prolific Echeveria, itās grown lots of of babies, but there is this one super long growth & Iām not sure what thatās about. This emerged around the same time it flowered, at first I thought it was another flower stalk, but itās not clearly š¤£ Iām just wondering why itās so long ? Priscilla (fourth picture) had grown a pup a couple months ago, since then it has gotten really big! Same for my Silver Snake Plant, itās kind hard to see the pup on that one (photo 3) but itās there & has also grown a lot since my last update on it. I kinda want to separate them & make new plants out of them, but Iām kinda nervous about it &, I also like the more full look it gives the plant. ā¢ I also wanted to share my Satin Pothos, she has really taken off since repotting her, & giving her a trellis to climb on, & adding a water globe for more even/consistent watering. I fill up the water globe every two days or so, & it has really made a big difference, I also moved her outdoors (on my screened in porch) in the beginning of spring, for the first time since getting her. She is just so full & pretty ! Graptoveria āMoonglowā - Iām loving the lower orange/yellow/red tips, & the powdery mint blue on the newer leavesā¦ it has lots of babies too! š„ŗ 4. Sedeveria āLilac Mistā - I have 3 heads of this cultivar & after loosing my last 3, Iāve been able to care for these guys a bit better. By giving them less water & watering less frequently, with lots of sun. All 3 stalks have recently started putting off babies, (will post babies in comments). Right now this one is showing a muted lavender with the newest leaves at the top & a lime green on the older lowest leaves. šæ 5. Tephrocactus Geometricus, also known as the āDragon Egg Cactusā , has been *slowly* growing. Recently these darker, more pointy, & thick spines have emergedā¦ Iām not sure what that means or why the spines have seemed to get thicker than the rest of the spines on the plant. Iām interested to know if that means anything at all, or if itās just a normal growth pattern. I havenāt changed anything as far as its environment. If anyone has any foresight on this please share! 2-4. Another close up of the Tephrocactus, & my BEAUTIFUL Arizona Rainbow Cactusā¦ itās very apparent why it was named such.. itās became one of my favorites, I wanted one for so longgg, Iām so happy to own such a beautiful cultivar. The way the spines mimic a rainbow pattern vertically, as well as eyecactching aerial view in photo 3.. I just canāt get enough of this beauty. They also have stunning flowers which I hope I will eventually get to experience! šø 5. Variegated Corn Cob Cactus- it has really thrived since repotting in early spring, It looks to me it could already use another repot soonā¦ problem is i have no bigger sized pots right nowā¦ (itās a bittersweet thing when your plants used to be super small, so all your pots are small, but now you have had them so long they have almost trippled in size, however you are lacking in pots that are appropriately sized for them nowā¦ š). I didnāt get pictures of all of them though. Hereās some that are my favorites 1. Ghost lady fern, this is my second one, my first one is in my momās yard (planted it there when I lived with her), so once I moved, I got another one for myself, because the first ended up just looked so good. Hopefully mine will get as big as hers, but right now itās wayyy smaller than hers. 2. Lantana, I took these out my planters and put them in my front yard a month or so ago and they have just took off! They have gotten so big and the butterflies love them (: 3. Waikiki Elephant Ears- You wouldnāt even know this was a division that only had one leaf when I first got it, I wasnāt even sure if it was gonna make it, because I was scared I had maybe damaged the roots or plant when I split it in half from the mother plant, but after a few days of it being in shock it perked up, and I eventually got it planted in my front yard. Itās better then I couldāve imagined itās about 5 times the size it was when I planted it. I also started a few props yesterday and a couple weeks ago. The ones in the third picture were from my FAVORITE PLANT (one of them atleast) my variegated graptoveria titubans, it got rot and the stem got too mushy so I had to chop and prop that puppy š I couldnāt give it up, so I wanted to save it. So far my chopped piece (photo 4) is doing well and has roots now & has firmed up since potting it so I think itās taking well so far. Same think happened with Pachyphytum starburst so I had to chop and prop that as well. Priscilla (fourth picture) had grown a pup a couple months ago, since then it has gotten really big! Same for my Silver Snake Plant, itās kind hard to see the pup on that one (photo 3) but itās there & has also grown a lot since my last update on it. I kinda want to separate them & make new plants out of them, but Iām kinda nervous about it &, I also like the more full look it gives the plant. ā¢ I also wanted to share my Satin Pothos, she has really taken off since repotting her, & giving her a trellis to climb on, & adding a water globe for more even/consistent watering. I fill up the water globe every two days or so, & it has really made a big difference, I also moved her outdoors (on my screened in porch) in the beginning of spring, for the first time since getting her. She is just so full & pretty ! Echeveria āPerle Von Nurnbergā - she recently got a repot & is doing well! I just love how her colors are constantly changing based on temp & lighting. 2-3. Graptoveria āMoonglowā - Iām loving the lower orange/yellow/red tips, & the powdery mint blue on the newer leavesā¦ it has lots of babies too! š„ŗ 4. Sedeveria āLilac Mistā - I have 3 heads of this cultivar & after loosing my last 3, Iāve been able to care for these guys a bit better. By giving them less water & watering less frequently, with lots of sun. All 3 stalks have recently started putting off babies, (will post babies in comments). Right now this one is showing a muted lavender with the newest leaves at the top & a lime green on the older lowest leaves. šæ 5. Pachyphytum Oviferum also known as āMoonstoneā, this one clearly needs a larger pot.. but like I said in my previous post Iām lacking in the large pot department right now šš itās doing a mean lean, because itās gotten so top heavy. Tephrocactus Geometricus, also known as the āDragon Egg Cactusā , has been *slowly* growing. Recently these darker, more pointy, & thick spines have emergedā¦ Iām not sure what that means or why the spines have seemed to get thicker than the rest of the spines on the plant. Iām interested to know if that means anything at all, or if itās just a normal growth pattern. I havenāt changed anything as far as its environment. If anyone has any foresight on this please share! 2-4. Another close up of the Tephrocactus, & my BEAUTIFUL Arizona Rainbow Cactusā¦ itās very apparent why it was named such.. itās became one of my favorites, I wanted one for so longgg, Iām so happy to own such a beautiful cultivar. The way the spines mimic a rainbow pattern vertically, as well as eyecactching aerial view in photo 3.. I just canāt get enough of this beauty. They also have stunning flowers which I hope I will eventually get to experience! šø 5. Variegated Corn Cob Cactus- it has really thrived since repotting in early spring, It looks to me it could already use another repot soonā¦ problem is i have no bigger sized pots right nowā¦ (itās a bittersweet thing when your plants used to be super small, so all your pots are small, but now you have had them so long they have almost trippled in size, however you are lacking in pots that are appropriately sized for them nowā¦ š). I didnāt get pictures of all of them though. Hereās some that are my favorites 1. Ghost lady fern, this is my second one, my first one is in my momās yard (planted it there when I lived with her), so once I moved, I got another one for myself, because the first ended up just looked so good. Hopefully mine will get as big as hers, but right now itās wayyy smaller than hers. 2. Lantana, I took these out my planters and put them in my front yard a month or so ago and they have just took off! They have gotten so big and the butterflies love them (: 3. Waikiki Elephant Ears- You wouldnāt even know this was a division that only had one leaf when I first got it, I wasnāt even sure if it was gonna make it, because I was scared I had maybe damaged the roots or plant when I split it in half from the mother plant, but after a few days of it being in shock it perked up, and I eventually got it planted in my front yard. Itās better then I couldāve imagined itās about 5 times the size it was when I planted it. I also started a few props yesterday and a couple weeks ago. The ones in the third picture were from my FAVORITE PLANT (one of them atleast) my variegated graptoveria titubans, it got rot and the stem got too mushy so I had to chop and prop that puppy š I couldnāt give it up, so I wanted to save it. So far my chopped piece (photo 4) is doing well and has roots now & has firmed up since potting it so I think itās taking well so far. Same think happened with Pachyphytum starburst so I had to chop and prop that as well.
