#PestControl After about 2 months of treatments I can say that I *might* be pest free! in October, I looked over at my favorite Hoya Australis Lisa and found thrips crawling on it. I’ve never seen thrips before so it took me a minute to realize what I was dealing with. I had no idea where it came from but must’ve been from one of the new plants I brought into the house over the summer or from an outdoor plant that had been brought in for the fall. I spent two weeks taking every single plant in my collection outside before the weather turned cold and frosty. Spraying everything down with the mist setting on the hose, letting everything dry, then spraying everything with a rubbing alcohol soapy, water solution. Then everything was treated with eather MiteX or We the Wild Protect Spray or both, because everything had to be treated more than once a week in order to beat the life cycle of the the thrips and their eggs hatching. I am still treating plants in the affected rooms about 1x per week as a precaution. I DID throw out quite a few plants during this time, most of which just wernt healthy enough to make worth my time to treat and carry in and out of the hose every week. So I guess this experience did help me to trim down my collection. 😅 another quarantine/treatment method I used was to take affected plants and bag them up in either large gallon Ziploc bags or large 13 gallon recycling bags which I was able to tie around my large Hoya and two large hanging baskets. Most of the plants treated in this method enjoyed the spa day, but I lost one small smaller Hoa that apparently had been locked in with too much water/humidity. 😢 #GregGang #Hoya #PothosPack #thestruggleisreal #WetheWild #thrips #PestsAndPlants #NEPAGregGang

I just repotted my Thai Constellation for the first time ever! And it was as you would expect, roots over growing the pot, stuck in there like feet griping the walls. It was one of the costa self watering pots so the roots were down in the cash pot and I had to cut the inner pot off. #PlantMail 🪴 I make orders from time to time, but it comes with its own risks. Photos of what I ordered and what I got. It’s a beautiful pothos but was severely wilted from the shipping process with lots of loooong yellowing vines, and browning leaves. Hoping it bounces back. My miniature plants 🪴 This is the top shelves of a bakers rack in the corner of my kitchen and it really makes me feel happy every time I walk by it. Also distracts me from what every I was supposed to be doing when I see a little plant that is looking neglected and needs to be repotted, and then needs a new spot, and then the plants in the new spot need rearranged, and then I knock one over because it’s too tall for its own good, so I have to take cuttings, and then I realize I can’t even find my phone to take a picture of my accomplishments, and there goes 45 minutes of my day! #HappyPlants #SucculentLove #PlantTherapy #GrowLights #NEPAGregGang #ADHDPLANTLOVERS @nellz4estfairyz

Saving my Aloe #AloeVera #overwatering #HappyPlants #NEPAGregGang See photos progress from sad overwatered aloe, to sunburned aloe, to HAPPY Aloe, that only gets watered every 3-4 weeks and has a whole bunch of little pups! 😊

This is the story of how I repotted my Pearls n Jade Pothos, overwatered it, let it sit in water for who knows how long, and it died of complete and total root rot. So in order to avoid losing the remaining leaves, I have chopped the whole thing into various sections of nodes and I’m going to restart the entire plant as water propagations. I did save some node and route sections that looked viable, but had no leaves, and I will stick them in sphagnum moss. #overwatering #RootRot #DeadPlant #SadPlant #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #waterpropagation #HappyPlants #brunchataudreys #TheThread #theamigos #NEPAGregGang

She made her grand entrance this morning!! Newest leaf on my philo billietiae!! Just wanted to share. The 1st pic is the new leaf that I woke up to find this morning had finally popped out and started to open. Well as some of you may already know, I tend to pick a new favorite type of plant about every month or so! 😂 Last month was Hoya, but this month is SNAKE 🐍 PLANTS! It started with one, then some propagations, then a tiny snake plant, and today I got the beautiful Cleopatra in the mail! Sooo, there was an art tour at a garden nursery, and a winery. So obviously my mother and I had to sample some 🍷 , and THEN went to look in the green house! lol The Hoya Australis Lisa was just tooooo beautiful to pass up. I actually saw it a week ago and regretted not buying it. And my husband said that I “already have one that looks just like it” in regards to the the tradescantia, BUT I don’t have THIS one. This one is a Red Silver. Very wide leaves, different than the others I have at home lol 😆 the Hoya heuschkeliana arrived in the mail today. Just a cute little 3” pot.
