But it was so cheap and I wanted it bad, so I took the chance. He wrapped it up good, cut all the leaves as they would freeze anyway. A week later I unpacked a oxygen-starved plant. It had cold-damage and some rot on the stem, but the roots looked real healty (although very rootbound). A small part had broken off too. So I rinsed it well and treated with cinnamon and had my hopes up, and knew I had to be patient. Today it is really sad and funky-looking, but a new leaf is soon to unrawel and I am so excited! 😄 It is ALIVE! And the part that broke off too (though I don't really dare to hope too much 😅). So now I have two calathea yellow fusion at the prize of under 14 usd. My #mandarinspiderplant is doing SO good, y’all! Look at hims 🙌🏽🥹🫶🏽🧡🍊 Hinokami and I were struggling for a month, trying to come to a conclusion on how he likes his watering routine. She advised me to chop it back, put it in a storage bag for awhile and plant soon after. This growth and progress that you guys is from October 4 to today. Just over one month!! 30 short days!!! This was my first real plant project and rehab. And let me tell you…if this little baby can find new life in my novice hands then there’s hope for all of us!!! 😂🙌🏾💚There are a lot of photos but hopefully they post in order. But trust, you’ll be able to identify the first and last photos.
