☀️ Hello #brunchataudreys 🌿 brunch bunch! It’s Friday morning, I’m sitting on my living room floor in my pj’s inspecting leaves and talking to my plants and thinking about my life choices 🪴 and remembering that last night right before I fell sleep I said “oh just get them,” and impulsively bought a couple wish list plants on Etsy and then was asleep before my head hit the pillow 😴 I’m looking at you @IdPlantThat and @Araceae for plant-fluencing me with pics of your beauties yesterday! 🤣 How is everyone doing today? The last few days have been wild rainy, windy with interspersed rainbows before back to storms. Last night while we walked to my daughters school for parent teacher conferences (luckily school is very close) I realized my raincoat bit the dust and I was getting cold water dripping down the back of my neck through my busted hood BRRR 🥶 Probably should have impulsively bought a new raincoat before I bought new plants 😂 My daughter however, pushed back her hood, and used her *closed* umbrella as a prop while she sang and danced the whole way to school in her light up rain boots. I might have launched into “singing in the rain,” and embarrassed her 😁 1️⃣2️⃣ My impulse buys (seller pics, not mine…YET) 3️⃣ my polka dot begonia flowering 4️⃣ my philo Brazil just loving life 5️⃣ my calathea family group photo How is everything in your oases today? Got all but one of my new birthday plants potted up in their new homes yesterday! 🪴 I also haven’t showed you guys my project I have been working on with my shells I brought back from the beach recently. I put them on two of my pots & a plant stand using super glue. I really like how they came out & it was fun to fit them together like a puzzle! I decided to put my Gasteraloe ‘D Tiga’ in one & my Haworthia Angustifolia in the other. I also potted my pink Syngonium in a pot with a watering tray so it evenly waters it, & also let it spend some time next to the humidifier today. I love the colors! 🌸 Lastly, I repotted my Speckled Hoya Carnosa & my Black Cardinal Philodendron. #brunchataudreys Good morning everyone 🌻 It's an absolutely gorgeous day here in the great state of Texas! High of 85° low humidity! I wish it was like this year 'round! Today is the day my Snake Plants are due for their once a month, give or take a day, watering. They have grown so much over the Summer 🌞 Months ago I also Soil Propagated some by cutting up a leaf and waiting. I waited...and waited... FINALLY little pups appeared! They're so stinking cute! 🥰🐍 Oh and I wanted to show you guys the colors on this little Hoya. It's sun stressed from my grow light. What do y'all got going on today? Tell me all about it!! GM and Happy Hump day #brunchataudreys gang! I’m awake and don’t see a BaA post so I’ll get it started 🙌. Because I’m still in bed 🛌 🥱 , all warm & snuggly with the pup 🐶 I’m gonna post what I see in the oasis so far 🤪. I up-potted this staghorn fern about a month ago. It was rough, had to cut him out of his pot ✂️ the roots had grown so thick around the drainage holes 😬!! He definitely felt the trauma and has dropped a few fronds. But I did see a new shield 🛡️ forming so yay 🙌 🎉!! Both Hoya wayetii and Princess are searching for something to climb 🧗. I love seeing their long tendrils feeling their way up to the ceiling or wall 😊. I don’t think I’ll trellis either, I like these guys spilling over in their pots 🥰. How’s your oasis this morning? ☀️ Good morning Tuesday #brunchataudreys 🌿 planty people!! How’s everyone doing today? I had restaurant dreams last night UGH (pages of waitlist not seated, sending tickets to the kitchen incorrectly, and tables empty but dirty) so I practically leaped🏃🏼‍♀️‍➡️out of bed relieved that was not real life. Let’s talk PLANTS 🌿 I’ve made the big switch to just using rainwater 🌧️ on all my plants. I live in an area with really good tap water, it’s from Bull Run reservoir and naturally soft, so ALL my 🪴 were getting tap…and, of course, two calathea’s were 🤒 suffering from something that I was pretending must be something else. Since I didn’t want to use rainwater for two plants only (with my brain I would get confused—I much prefer finding/using one thing/method á la Three Musketeers ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL 🤺) I made the change. It’s only been a couple weeks but 1️⃣ my pinstripe calathea has put out new growth!! 🙌🏼 2️⃣ Look at this lil baby shoot! 👀 3️⃣ My roseopicta “Dottie” was the worst (probably because her leaves are the biggest and most noticeable) and since the change I’ve had no new crispy leaf tips 🙌🏼 My wonderful husband hooked up our rain barrels, put in a spigot and hose, and 4️⃣&5️⃣ just look at our weather forecast for this week… 💯 rain ☔️ And I’m excited for it! rain rain don’t go away, fill up my barrels, the live long day 🎶 🌧️ 🌿 Thats it for me, now I want to hear about YOU. 🫶🏼 Anything you are particularly proud of or having struggles with? Good morning #brunchataudreys brunch bunch!! 🌿 we’ve got some wild weather this week. It’s so windy today that I almost regret wearing a skirt and my witch hat; ones threatening to blow up, ones threatening to blow off 😆🌬️ and the other night we had a single crack of thunder so loud that it SHOOK our HOUSE. 😲 Anyone else have some wild weather this week? This last week I’ve been noticing all the growth that happened over the summer and thought it’d be fun to do some before and afters! Any plants in your oases that have had some great growth? #brunchataudreys Good afternoon Brunchers!! I hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday! 🌞🌈 I had 24 plants to water today but most of them weren't ready so a handful got snoozed! Yesterday was so overcast and it gave me a glimpse of what Winter is going to look like in the Oasis and it's pretty grim. I'm going to have to get some more grow lights up in here! Good morning☕️🌞to #TheThread Its a chilly Sunday morning in kansasland and our coldest temps since may. FALL is definately in full swing here and i expect leaves to start changing to those amazing fall colors this week. I fell asleep right after dinner last night but still had 3 plants outside that needed to come in before it got to cold. I woke up at 11 in a panic😱😱😱! But my body said woah!!!! You arent doing anything until i wake up too😂! As much as i wanted to run straight out and get them it just wasnt happening without a few drinks of coffee and a few stretches and pops! Long story short it was only 59 degrees at that point so everyone got in safe and sound🤗. But roght now its 47 so good thing i woke up when i did🙌. We had several@great photos shared yesterday.... aside from my pic hogging posts lol. Here are a few you might enjoy a second look at! Good morning Thursday #brunchataudreys plant crew 🌿 I’m super excited to host today for you! Whatcha got going on in your planty worlds today? Today I’m here to shoutout to the SURVIVORS. 🪴💪The ones that you *probably* didn’t mean to murder, and almost did, but they survived! Anyways, a few months back I blindly followed a YouTuber and made their DIY Pest Spray and almost killed SO many of my babies. 😭 **Note: Spraying isopropyl alcohol on plants leaves destroys the protective waxy coating, no matter how many websites or YouTubers say otherwise. [CLARIFICATION EDIT: I still would dab mealybugs off with a swab dipped in iso] So put on some Destiny’s Child, play the song “Survivor,” 17 times on repeat because you suddenly focused on that word and can’t get it out of your head (okay! you dont have to do what I did) and let’s look at some plants! 1️⃣ Stromanthe, like my ctenanthe, but pinker, more compact, and pointier. You might be able to see some leaf damage which will never heal, but this little baby has FOUR new offshoots and 5 new leafs pushing out! 2️⃣3️⃣My sweet little Rex begonia. She’s the superstar today. I didn’t think she was gonna make it, but look at all these strong baby leaves and new growth points! 4️⃣Tradescantia nanouk cutting, saying “You thought I couldn’t grow without you but I’m wiser!” 🎶 You don’t need to have a survivor to join in today. GM and Happy Hump day #brunchataudreys gang! I’m awake and don’t see a BaA post so I’ll get it started 🙌. Because I’m still in bed 🛌 🥱 , all warm & snuggly with the pup 🐶 I’m gonna post what I see in the oasis so far 🤪. I up-potted this staghorn fern about a month ago. It was rough, had to cut him out of his pot ✂️ the roots had grown so thick around the drainage holes 😬!! He definitely felt the trauma and has dropped a few fronds. But I did see a new shield 🛡️ forming so yay 🙌 🎉!! Both Hoya wayetii and Princess are searching for something to climb 🧗. I love seeing their long tendrils feeling their way up to the ceiling or wall 😊. I don’t think I’ll trellis either, I like these guys spilling over in their pots 🥰. How’s your oasis this morning? ☀️ Good morning Tuesday #brunchataudreys 🌿 planty people!! How’s everyone doing today? I had restaurant dreams last night UGH (pages of waitlist not seated, sending tickets to the kitchen incorrectly, and tables empty but dirty) so I practically leaped🏃🏼‍♀️‍➡️out of bed relieved that was not real life. Let’s talk PLANTS 🌿 I’ve made the big switch to just using rainwater 🌧️ on all my plants. I live in an area with really good tap water, it’s from Bull Run reservoir and naturally soft, so ALL my 🪴 were getting tap…and, of course, two calathea’s were 🤒 suffering from something that I was pretending must be something else. Since I didn’t want to use rainwater for two plants only (with my brain I would get confused—I much prefer finding/using one thing/method á la Three Musketeers ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL 🤺) I made the change. It’s only been a couple weeks but 1️⃣ my pinstripe calathea has put out new growth!! 🙌🏼 2️⃣ Look at this lil baby shoot! 👀 3️⃣ My roseopicta “Dottie” was the worst (probably because her leaves are the biggest and most noticeable) and since the change I’ve had no new crispy leaf tips 🙌🏼 My wonderful husband hooked up our rain barrels, put in a spigot and hose, and 4️⃣&5️⃣ just look at our weather forecast for this week… 💯 rain ☔️ And I’m excited for it! rain rain don’t go away, fill up my barrels, the live long day 🎶 🌧️ 🌿 Thats it for me, now I want to hear about YOU. 🫶🏼 Anything you are particularly proud of or having struggles with? Good morning #brunchataudreys brunch bunch!! 🌿 we’ve got some wild weather this week. It’s so windy today that I almost regret wearing a skirt and my witch hat; ones threatening to blow up, ones threatening to blow off 😆🌬️ and the other night we had a single crack of thunder so loud that it SHOOK our HOUSE. 😲 Anyone else have some wild weather this week? #brunchataudreys Good afternoon Brunchers!! I hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday! 🌞🌈 I had 24 plants to water today but most of them weren't ready so a handful got snoozed! Yesterday was so overcast and it gave me a glimpse of what Winter is going to look like in the Oasis and it's pretty grim. I'm going to have to get some more grow lights up in here! I always struggle with how much light is necessary and how much is too much. 🤷‍♀️ Things were fine until the sun moved! Good morning☕️🌞to #TheThread Its a chilly Sunday morning in kansasland and our coldest temps since may. FALL is definately in full swing here and i expect leaves to start changing to those amazing fall colors this week. I fell asleep right after dinner last night but still had 3 plants outside that needed to come in before it got to cold. I woke up at 11 in a panic😱😱😱! But my body said woah!!!! You arent doing anything until i wake up too😂! As much as i wanted to run straight out and get them it just wasnt happening without a few drinks of coffee and a few stretches and pops! Long story short it was only 59 degrees at that point so everyone got in safe and sound🤗. But roght now its 47 so good thing i woke up when i did🙌. We had several@great photos shared yesterday.... aside from my pic hogging posts lol. Here are a few you might enjoy a second look at! Good morning Thursday #brunchataudreys plant crew 🌿 I’m super excited to host today for you! Whatcha got going on in your planty worlds today? Today I’m here to shoutout to the SURVIVORS. 🪴💪The ones that you *probably* didn’t mean to murder, and almost did, but they survived! Anyways, a few months back I blindly followed a YouTuber and made their DIY Pest Spray and almost killed SO many of my babies. 😭 **Note: Spraying isopropyl alcohol on plants leaves destroys the protective waxy coating, no matter how many websites or YouTubers say otherwise. [CLARIFICATION EDIT: I still would dab mealybugs off with a swab dipped in iso] So put on some Destiny’s Child, play the song “Survivor,” 17 times on repeat because you suddenly focused on that word and can’t get it out of your head (okay! you dont have to do what I did) and let’s look at some plants! 1️⃣ Stromanthe, like my ctenanthe, but pinker, more compact, and pointier. You might be able to see some leaf damage which will never heal, but this little baby has FOUR new offshoots and 5 new leafs pushing out! 2️⃣3️⃣My sweet little Rex begonia. She’s the superstar today. I didn’t think she was gonna make it, but look at all these strong baby leaves and new growth points! 4️⃣Tradescantia nanouk cutting, saying “You thought I couldn’t grow without you but I’m wiser!” 🎶 You don’t need to have a survivor to join in today.
