Do I cut the dead looking leaves

The flower has faded from bright red to lavender. It’s not crunchy like it’s dying, just really faded. Not enough sun? Too much sun? Something else?

Trimming the fat!! After almost a year (very bad, I know) I’ve finally gotten around to trimming all the dead leaves off of my Guzmania. It was flowering when I bought it and it did last quite a while, but inevitably it did die back and send up two babies. The mother plant is all but dead (suuper dry since its by a radiator and the pebble tray was not cutting it), but the babies are still looking green with a bit of a slow growth rate but I’m hopeful. Rain Squad!! It’s watering day anyway, so when the rain clouds came in I knew what I had to do!! This is actually the first time that any of my plants have had rain water (I have a filtered water jug that I usually use for them), and I’m so excited on their behalf!!
