I can only imagine, maybe someone here can confirm it for me, but I can only imagine the feeling of accomplishment, hard work payoff, and satisfaction you get when first seeing the new rolled up leaves on your Calathea is a lot like the feeling ya get when ya score a touch down in the big game, or hit the game winning basket at the buzzer, or bottom of the 9th 2/2 home run!! Had To Share with the Fam!! 🫶🏻🌱 So I think this is amazing bc I’ve never seen one with flowers before, so I’m completely 🤯🤯🤯 and the very first thing that came to mind after “OMG, WOW!!” was “omg!!! I gotta share with the Fam!!!” So this is amazing and also funny…the first 2/3 pics are pics of the flower but the last 2 I just had to include bc when I was first on my step stool, before I ever saw the flowers, I saw this node thing forming and it totally geeked me bc it looked like a bug at first!! Like it was living inside the stem or something and was coming out!!! Omg, not even kidding I screened a bit and my husband scott came in with his work boot and said “where is it?!” I said “where is what?!” lol his response was “the spider!! I heard ya scream…just thought I’d save ya the trip of coming to get me!” lol How sweet is that and omg how funny is that that it looks like a bug?!?! Just wanted to share this little cutie!! I have a “Violet” container with 3 different Violet species. There’s a Sora Fuzzy Face, and Irish Ruffles, and then this one the that has the bloom that I don’t have the name of!! lol If anyone out there reading is a Violet fan and wants to take a shot at naming her, I am all ears!! I just love how the edges are delicate little green frills and then the rest of the flower is pink!! So pretty…😍🤤 Actually, I have a question as well…to my fellow Violet fans out there, how do you guys handle or accomplish “dusting” these kinds of plants? I have 5 cats, 2 of which are long haired and I swear the leaves of a Violet plant act as a magnetic attracter for cat hair!!! Not to mention even just the soil from the pot!! I have a VERY DIFFICULT time keeping them “clean”. I usually end up breaking an otherwise health leaf and get frustrated and give up bc I’m afraid I’ll just end up damaging more leaves. Has anyone out there found a successful way to accomplish it? We made it through another week Planty Peeps! #FreshLeafFriday is here again 🥳🌿🥰💚 Big shout out to William, my Prince of Orange (which will forever now be known as PoOs! Lol). His latest effort is just unfurling and it looks like it's going to be HUGE! (& just look at the colour of it! 👀🧡♥️) My Calathea Musaica Network is going CRAZY all of a sudden and shooting out loads of little leaf sheaves, I can't wait for all those new beauties to finish unfurling! 💚🥰 My PPP's latest leaf is an absolutely BEAUTY! it's by far the highest variegated she's given me to date and I'm just loving those showy pink splashes! 🩷🤩 My little Philo Silver Sword was just a sad little cutting a couple of months ago... He dropped all but one of his leaves immediately 🤦‍♀️ but NOW look at him go! 💚 And I couldn't NOT show off this teeny, tiny bit perfectly formed Syngo Albo leaf! When I repotted mum (Tinkerbell) there was an obvious cut I could make so... Being the original #FAAFO (F*ck About and Find Out) technique cheerleader I had to have a go at propping her... And JUST LOOK! isn't she just the cutest, most perfect little thing?! 🥳💚🥰 So, I've shown you mine... Happy #Freshleaffriday everyone! 🥳💚 let's see your new growth to end the week on a high! As usual at this time of year, there's far too much going on a Casa Benyon-Burnett to show it all off! Lol, but here are some of my favourites from this week... Pics continue in the comments since I can only load five on this main bit lol 1. Monsty Major survived her repotting and instantly rewarded me with this beauty! 🤩 I can't stop looking at it! Lol (& Monsty Mini is spitting her first new leaf since being separated from mum too!) 2. Princess, my Monstera Albo just got done with one leaf and has started another already! I'm really hoping for some SIZE this time as her last two were beautiful but a bit wee! She's been repotted since the first and just before she fully popped her second so I'm hoping the extra room and new soil will help her get there! 3. Loopy the Variegated Schefflera's cutting seems to be going great guns and is starting to give me new growth! The cutting has obviously taken in so delighted 🥳 4. Stanley the Standyleana Aurea is giving me a new leaf too (never worked out why the last is teardrop shaped not long and thin like the otters but hey ho! 🤣) 5. William's new leaf looks like it's going to be even bigger and redder than the first! 🥰 I'm so proud of him finding a way after losing his lead leaf! 🥳 6. My Stromanthe Triostar is just throwing leaves out all over the place at the moment and is looking really full and beautiful! 🤩 7. I got a cutting a few weeks ago if a Philo Silver Sword and, not sure why, but one of the two stopped every single leaf and was just a stick! Lol the other did manage to keep one... And now look! All this new growth just started shooting out 💚👀💚 8. My Thai Platinum gave her very first leaf and it's so tiny and precious! 🥹 Just look at it's cute dinkiness! lol 👀🥹 9. And finally, when I repotted my Syngo Albo I took a cutting to try and propagate it #FAAFO is always the way!) lol, I was pretty gutted this morning to find the leaf has yellowed overnight! BUT there is definite growth at the base 🥳 it's not exactly a leaf yet lmao 🤣 but she's getting there! 🥰 It's just a teeny pinky shoot but it's exciting! Have a fab weekend all my planty peeps!
