I’m dogsitting for my grandparents and thought I’d share these beautiful plants that my grandma has recently gotten into! Eeeee THERE'S A FLOWER!!!!! My little Christmas cactus -an actual Christmas cactus- has opened up its very first bloom! I got it as a baby 2 leaf cutting back in March and it's exploded over the year. Was worried it was too young to bloom, but I got one! I need advice on my Christmas Cactus’s. I have three that I purchased this season and they were loaded with blooms but when I brought them home, they slowly started to die and fall off. Even the buds never bloomed. They all dried up and fell off. I haven’t over watered and they’re in front of a west facing window. This seems to always happen when I get a new Christmas or Thanksgiving cactus. What can I do to help them bloom and to continue to bloom? #christmascactus #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #thanksgivingcactus

Christmas Cactus 🌵 🌺 I just wanted to share how healthy my Christmas cactus is looking these days. It only had a couple flowers this year but it’s been through a lot over the past several years. 2 part story: part 1 - i started this plant when a family friend, visiting my moms house for Thanksgiving, walked by the plant and accidentally knocked off a branch. I brought it home and placed it in water roughly 14 years ago, and here we are! 🥰Part 2 of my story - I saw online that you can give deluted diluted cold coffee to a Christmas cactus as a fertilizer. So i tried it about a week ago! It certainly didn’t hurt anything. I also have just recently moved this plant to a brighter location under a grow light. My False Christmas Cactus is not doing to well- compared to how it was over Spring & Summer. . I’ve had it in my AZ north facing window; it even had lovely blooms. . Now part of it is a lil floppy and droopy and pieces are falling off. It’s never required a ton of attention, so not sure what’s going on. . I just put it in a larger pot. . Can it survive, grow and thrive outside in AZ? Or, should I place it in a South or West window? Or just a morning only bright room? . I’d love to see it make a comeback. . I’ll try to find previous pics of it and I’ll add in comments. . #christmascactus

I already posted about the first bloom on my #FalseChristmasCactus this season, but I just want to show everyone this beautiful, random peach-colored flower that showed up! I’ve had this plant for a year, and in that time, it’s bloomed only red and white flowers—2 plants in the pot—or so I thought. I’m just saying, peach was not in the mix last year! I suppose it’s possible there are 3 plants in the pot and this particular one didn’t bloom at all until this year. If so, jackpot! I am absolutely obsessed with my fake Christmas cactus. That’s probably not the actual name but oh my stars it’s gorgeous! I just wanted to share my plant’s glow up! My friend got this plant when his aunt passed away—it was hers. But he didn’t know how to care for it, it was dying, and his cat bit it. He brought it to me to save it. The photo in the gray square pot was two years ago. The last photo shows it now next to that same gray pot, which now houses a peperomia. This beautiful #ChristmasCactus has grown so much, and I love it! It’s also a nice reminder of his aunt Linda, who was a wonderful lady. (This is why it is named Linda in my oasis.)
