Itās a #LeafChop kind of day today because plants are growing and abandoning foliage! I normally say āHang on to themā but not with it being pest season and fungi season! Too much moisture in the air isnāt always beneficial so be on the lookout for signs! We removed 12 leaves of all sizes and kinds and thatās ok when you see suspect spots, margins, and tips! We all get them, none of our plants are immune! Sometimes, youāve got to cut things off if they arenāt beneficial! My plants donāt like the constant change in weather and it shows. My #ElChocoRed #gloriosum was tired after years of giving. High humidity in this crazy Texas weather got to her. She told me she needed a break by abandoning her leaves. I trimmed them all off and left one soon-to-erupt leaf thatās growing in the center. Sheās in a quarantine cabinet where other pots go when on sabbatical for several months to get themselves together and Iām good with it. In my look for the silver lining mindset, Iām now looking forward to seeing her fresh foliage in a few months. Philodendron are particular. They donāt like change and I made the mistake of moving š§³ her. She freaked out in total š± shock and said Enough! Now I get to wait and watch her grow into a beautiful new plant and I have to admit it brings me joy. They come back bigger and better and ready to work hard on that foliage. Anyway, here she is. We had a fairly exciting weekend at our place! We went plant shopping just for fun and then dealt with a flooded laundry room. Thankfully, I have tile floors and a floor drain. Plus tile baseboards to protect my walls. [[Shrug]] It happens and you have to keep moving forward, right? Right! Here are the wonderful plants we saw and a few actually came home to live in #CarolinesWinterGarden. We found a few rare ones that we normally donāt see at the stores here but here we areā¦ Iāll be adding them to my oasis later this week and slowly introducing them. Btw, Iād really like to set up 2023ās first #SanAntonioGregMeetup. In the past, Iāve gifted plants to one lucky member and Iāve sent out t-shirts to them.
