New Year, blooming #succulents! So many of my succulents are in bloom right now and I'm here for it. Not to mention that it was 70 F today (felt like 76 for most of the day), so of course I had to take advantage and do some repotting. We'll pay for this little sneak peek of spring but for now I'm gonna enjoy it while it's here. Plant photos below: 1) Sedeveria 'Pink Granite', Graptopetalum 'Jester', and a variegated jade that got repotted. 2) Echeveria derenbergii, I'm so proud of her! She was one of my very first succulents and started as such an itty bitty little thing. 3) Some sort of Sedum 4) Graptoveria 'Opalina', it's her first bloom and I cannot wait 😍😍😍 5) Last but not least, my Christmas cactus FINALLY BLOOMED OMG. She was so late to set the buds but patience paid off. IT’S WORKING!!! Thank you @princesspitstop for the inspiration to finally try moving my Christmas Cactus to a darker part of the house 6 weeks ahead of the holidays ❤️ This plant has produced just a handful of blooms in the last 15-20 years, but this year it is COVERED with them! I’m SO EXCITED!!! I’ll probably move it back to the living room later this week when we start our decorating. I am beyond excited to have my FIRST EVER flower bloom on a plant. I noticed she was starting to bloom yesterday and kept checking in to see her progress. This is the final result and I just love everything about it. Hopefully many more to come. 📸 Photo dump of some of my unusual and/or rare succulents… 1) Lithops lesliei v hornii 'Greenhorn' - My first successful lithops bloom!😃 2) E. unguiculata 3) Korean E. 'Tinkerbell' 4) Korean E. 'Snow Bunny' 5) Pleiospilos nelii 'Split Rock' - survived 6 seasons with me outside and is splitting again! P.S. The lithops / split rock I’ve been growing outside on a wire rack on my open deck with a sheer plastic covering to protect from rain… I think I watered the lithops a total of 6 times this year (I got it in April)! Finally got my plant room organize for winter 🙌🏻🤩 I’m so happy with how much more room I have & how much better it looks. Although I still need to get a few grow lights, it just ain’t in the budget right now 🤣.. I got the lamp & kitty picture (photo 1) for my birthday on Wednesday from my grandma & I thought they would both look awesome in my plant room. I also have my #NewPlants my mom got me set up on the table with my humidifier since you guys told me Philos & Hoyas like humidity 😏 #PlantCorner Picture two & three are the top of my plant shelf, I have it decorated as of now but that may change if I don’t end up having enough space for my plants 😬 I have my seashells displayed, & other plant related Knick knacks & my mushrooms 🍄 My new mushroom planter is super cute 🥰 a gift from my Boyfriend for my birthday. Photo 4 is over view of my plant corner, with all of my shelves & my storage shelf for my plants tools/fertilizers etc. Lastly I couldn’t finish the post up without a #BloomingSuccs photo. 🤭 Aloe ‘Delta Lights’ is growing a flower I think, yay! It’s put a lot of new growth at the top of the plant since I repotted it into a much bigger pot. Monday again 🫩.. I repotted some of my cacti together this weekend with my new Sol Soil mix.. I can’t wait to see how they do. My birthday is Wednesday & tomorrow I will be celebrating one month sober! It’s the first birthday I’ve had sober in 5 years so I’m very excited and proud! My ruby necklace has a lil flower! 🌼 My moonstone also has two forming flower stalks I’m hoping I will get to see atleast one of them bloom before it gets too cold and I have to bring them inside because I’m not sure if they will continue to flower or try to flower indoors. 😬 I took my Echeveria Blue Atoll out of the pot I put my cacti in, and had to go out to buy a new pot since I didn’t have anything big enough for it!! Some planty updates, since I haven't done that in a while. The succulents are really putting on their cool weather stress colors: hello pinks and deep reds! The Echeveria 'Lime n Chile' is really living up to its name with the contrasting red and lime green. I've also got some bloom updates! The flower stalks are getting bigger, and one of them is almost ready to open. Decided to plant my props in pots today, I was gonna try to wait till they dropped the mother leaf but I figured why not just go ahead and do it. I didn’t have enough pots for all of them but I’m glad I got some of them in their own home. Also some #BloomingSuccs updates 2. Graptoveria ‘Debbie’ had started to grow what looked like flower stalks, but since has slowed down because of weather changes I think. Still not sure if they are flowers or not. 3&4. Moonstone flower is getting longer and bigger and it put off another flower recently! I hope I get to see them before it gets too cold! 5. Arizona rainbow cactus , I mean look at those colors! Just to pretty not to post 🌈 it looks small but believe me it has grown since I got it! #succulentsaturday 🌿 I cut some of my flowers off my Echeveria Blue Sky, & used this vase my grandma gave me to put them in. *tip*- don’t use water if you want to cut them to display them, it will rot them & won’t last. They have lasted about a month or a little less, since I’ve cut them and had them inside. That’s a long time for cut flowers if you ask me. Also wanted to brag on my VSOH, it’s so long & is doing so good! My boyfriend got me this for my first birthday we had together, so it’s a special plant! It even had a little string of all white hearts (photo 4) which is super cool. Got to repot some things today & yesterday, whilst repotting my Aloe ‘Delta Lights’, I dropped it on its head and broke some leaves 😭.. it was so root bound and stuck in the pot, I quite literally had to fight with it for a about ten minutes to get it out the pot it was in.. 😒 when I dropped it upside down… the whole rootball (the dirt) fell apart & the dirt got all over the plant & crevices 😟. All in all it was a STRUGGLE to repot it, but I was able to get it done, lesson learned *don’t let it get so rootbound to where it’s almost impossible to get it out of the pot*… (photo 1) I also repotted my Silver Snake Plant today in my other 20 inch teracotta bowl, (the aloe went in the other one). I wanted to use them for an arrangement, but honestly my plants have gotten so big this season to where I don’t even have pots big enough to repot a lot of them right now. 😫 so I just had to use them for one plant, which is fine because honestly those plants both need more space to grow. (Photos 2-3) I put my Graptopetalum ‘Superbum’ in the pot that I took my Aloe ‘Delta Lights’ out of. It had slowed growth & the dirt just seemed kinda hydrophobic. I’m hoping to see a little growth before I have to bring it in during winter. (Photo 4) Lastly, the Aloe ‘Delta Lights’ looks like it’s starting to form a flower stalk.. it’s never bloomed before, I’m hoping me repotting it while it’s actively trying to flower isn’t gonna stunt or affect it. Graptoveria Moonstone, looks like we may have a bloom stalk peeking out 🫣🤞🏻 she really needs a new phot but I don’t even have one big enough for her! 3. Update on my Graptoveria ‘Debbie’, the blooms stalks are maturing, at first I for sure thought they were blooms; but today they look like they could even possibly be pups? Idk what do you guys think? #ThornyThursday 😉 my mom gave me a crown of thorns… when adding it to my oasis, so many different kinds of Crown of Thorns came up… & mine didn’t come with a sprecific name, so I’m not sure if it’s the right ID (Crown Of Thorns ‘Bicolor’). (Photo 4) Anyways I repotted her, & hopefully she will like it outside… I’m wondering if it is similar to my African Milk Bush, & will prefer morning sun, & afternoon shade. I noticed my AMB (African milk bush) started yellowing leaves if left in full sun all day, like my other succulents. It seems to prefer morning sun, with afternoon shade during the hotter hours of the day. This is my first crown of thorns, so idk if they will be similar in that way, but any care advice would be greatly appreciated! I also wanted to share some #BloomingCactus / #BloomingSuccs My Varigated Melon cactus, (Photos 1-3) has the teensiest CUTEST FLOWERR ever starting to form… I know she is small, you may even have to squint to be able to tell it’s a flower… but it is! I’m so happy, this is one of favorite plants/cactus. I haven’t had her very long either, I’m telling you guys the fertilizer I use for my #Succulents has been impressing me this year! So many new blooms on varieties that haven’t bloomed for me before, & it’s usually after repotting with new soil with added in slow release granular succulent fertilizer. I get it from Home Depot & it truly does work for a great price & the bottle will last you a while, depending on how often you repot & the size of the planter.
