Angel Wing Begonia Repot I repotted my tiny baby angel wing begonia a couple days ago. I got it as a cutting in a miniature wine glass with leca and pebbles. It finally grew a new leaf and the roots looked feisty so I decided to upgrade to a year cotta pot with no hole set in a normal size wine glass filled with water. It was very root bound with all the leca. I could barely get it out! In theory with the new pot, the water will slowly seep through the terracotta at the right speed for my plant. Happy #freshleaffriday from #jaysjungle! Been a busy day and for me and my plants! . Added these beauties to my collection today! Actually ended up with a much better Monstera Albo cutting than I had paid for. This one has higher variegation and 2 nodes with long aerial roots. I'll give y'all a better look later, but just had to get it potted up in some substrate real quick. . My 1st real #begonia, I have some cuttings. I guess it's time to join the #begoniabunch. I've got a frw cuttings, but just claimed my 1st actual #begonia plants from a FB Purge. . If you knew me a few months ago I HATED begonia and they freaked me out (some still do!) So this is a shocker. But hanging out with @ShinyBudew's BF at our recent meetups and talking begonia, plus the stunning variety, has converted me... maybe . My Greg mug came today! 🥲 I didn't know a batch had been sent out, so it was a total surprise! I haven't been on the app in a while because I've been busy stressing out about things. 😂 The surprise mug really, really made my day! Thanks Greg 😊 Here are some recent plant blooms, new growth, and additions to my collection! 🪴 My Birkin put out another reverted, partially red leaf! 🪴 I repotted two of my begonias (Don Miller and an angel wing) and moved them to the kitchen for better light and so I could enjoy them more. I think begonias may become my new plant type obsession 😂 I am also trying to prop some of my begonia Rex from the leaf but it looks ugly right now, so no pictures haha 🪴 Both of my Christmas cacti are just starting to bloom, but the pink flowers are always so stunning and I take a million pictures. 🪴 My syngonium mojito put out its first new leaf! 🪴 I got a string of turtles and a dischidia variegated million hearts (both very impulse buys but I can't resist cute little plants. Got this #begonia Batwing cutting from a friend back in early Oct and all it's done since is lose a leaf. It finally popped out a tiny leaf under water and some #rootporn ! This is my 1st venture into begonia, so hoping 🙏 this one takes! 🤞 . Any tips for propagating these? Reposting my rainbow soil for caudex, succulent, cactus, begonias. Highly porous, high moisture and mineral retention and of course highly aesthetic 😏. All divide equally: 1. Akadama soil (moisture retention and drainage) 2. Zeolite (nutrient retention and decontaminates soil) 3. Pumice (drainage and much better than perlite) 4. Lava rock (natural minerals) For fertilising: 1. High K (potassium) content for succs and caudex for root growth 2.
