Life has been hectic for the past few months caring for my dad who fell and broke his hip, plus trying to travel for work and care for my own family all at the same time. I finally made the time to really take a look at some of my many plants and give them the TLC they deserved. Most did well in the months I was away but I lost a few. One of my favorites and my biggest joy right now is my flame violet. She’s been blooming like crazy and the leaf color is amazing. So happy this tiny starter turned out to be a such wonderful plant.

Good morning☕️🌞 to #TheThread WOOHOO its FRIYAY🙌! For a short week it sure felt LONG. 1 more day of work torture then a couple days of relaxation BLISS🥹. I started to clean up my storm mess yesterday but didnt get close to done. I got my driveway and sidewalks cleared but the yards still covered in leaves and acorns😤. Ill have to get the rest this weekend. Its a pretty nice morning in kansasland again. Its 65 now and going for a high in the mid 70s. Its sure going to be a nice FRIYAY, to bad its a full day of work today. But really its nice weather for the whole 10 day forcast, so ill have plenty of time to enjoy it. Im not sure my weekend plans yet. I probably shoukd start making room for plants to come inside, but we will see 🤷‍♂️. What are you guys doing for the weekend. Excitement, relaxation, work? We had some great photos to reshare this wonderful morning. Alot were flowers so in honor of that its a FRESH FLOWER FRIDAY🙌! Our first colorful photo was shared by @CourtlyKingfern of her EXOTIC and beautiful brassia orchid flowering. Theres is so much going on with this awe inspiring photo that im not sure where to start😱. Just look at those whispy petals flowing like ribbons of yellow silk in the wind? @PrizedShadscale shared our next stunning FLOWER photo for the day. This show stopper of a plant has it all🤩! Velvety pubescent leaves, a regal dark green color, and that majestic purple on those flowers! This little plant packs a big ol PUNCH with its beauty. OFC we needed a Thanksgiving cacti in the mix for our 3rd pic. This one shared by @MariansOasis decided to pop open while she was gone for a few days. You can imagine her JOY at coming home to such a PERFECTLY formed heavenyl white flower🥰. Our last photo for the day was shared by @RealSimpleMama. This lipstick plant really brightened her week when she found this perfect little red flower on her props i sent her🙌! Its so wonderful and amazing how such a little thing can bring a smile to the face of someone struggling. Im so glad your enjoying it! This is why i LOVE gifting plants😍! Winter of flowers! I put the violets in the extra room to make a more homeostatic environment for them. I ordered 60 violet leaves this weekend, to celebrate autumn and because I found the first ever pups on my violet props! Good morning☕️🌞 to #TheThread We made it🙌 Its SATURDAY! Im sure alot of you are catching up on some much needed sleep this morning. I definately slept later than normal. It was still a grrrr😤 morning though, i went to make coffee and remembered i was out🙄. Guess its cappucinos until i decide to get out. I got several things repotted yesterday and still a few more to go today. I ran out of media and had to stop to hydrate and mix more up. Ill get some more potted up today. Yesterdays thread was filled to the rim with excellent photos. It had a little of everything for this mornings eye candy! Hoyas orchids AV indoor plants outdoor scenery. Im sure everyone saw something that made them 🤤🤤🤤! For me it was this hoya chinghungensis in photo 1 that @CourtlyKingfern just got! Its dainty glossy and a variagated beauty that made me need ANOTHER Hoya🙄😂! HAPPY BIRTHDAY Evelyn🎂! Hoyaobsessed added our 2nd pic of the day to yesterday thread of her stunning tiger lilys blooming🤩! Those black speckles on that perfect orange backdrop have all the neighbors jealous with envy😱. Our 3rd pic was shared by @TidyTigerpear of this wild mushroom cluster🍄🍄‍🟫🍄. She said she found it while exploring her moms yard. Our 4 th pic was shared by @rootedNcute of her soft and beautiful😍 african violet collection. They are small fuzzy beautiful and have flowers! Whats not to love! And for our last photo, we have a PUPPY🙌🥰 that @SwiftWolfsbane has been helping take care of until they can find suitable homes for him and his puppy siblings. About a month ago I got a call from my local botanical shop telling me their owner had some variegated African violets if I was still interested and I simply had to jump on the chance! I inquired over a year ago as she left them in shop for staff to look after while she was away and I expressed to the staff how beautiful they were, turns out she spent all this time getting them propagated and suitable to go home🥹 these beauties have been home with me for a month now and the larger one is especially happy, 3 new flowers and a fresh bud trying to pop out pluuus some beautiful new variegation🥰 the second smaller one is popping out tons of new leaves too!! I’m so excited for them to keep growing? They’re already soo beautiful💗💗 #variegatedplants #VariegatedAfricanViolet #AfricanViolet #HappyPlants #NewGrowth #PlantLove #FloweringPlants

#brunchataudreys - GOODMORNING & HAPPY 😊 THURSDAY LOVELIES ❤️❤️ I hope EVERYONE has a great day 🌞 Sooo……I know we ALL have that unbelievable BEFORE & AFTER pic of a specific plant, right?!? 🪴 I actually have a few, but 2️⃣ in particular!! My Purple African Violets!! WOWZERS - It was pretty PATHETIC when I received it! Mind you, I live in Atlanta and for some reason I cannot find African Violets in the local grocery stores or nurseries! So I’ve had to order online! Aside from the 2 I just got and flew them home with me from Virginia! But this solid purple one has really blown me away 🤯 Now it’s going ready to bloom with 3️⃣ new buds 💜 And my (Cissus Discolor) Begonia Vine! I just got that a couple of months ago and it only had 3 or 4 leaves on it! It was soooo sad, I didn’t think it would make it! But a self watering pot and a little TLC did the trick! Now it’s literally wrapping itself around one of my aloe leaves!! And the self watering pot is FULL of roots 🤩 The last one for today is my Polka Dot Begonia!! It only had 3 leaves and they were all dried up and crispy! It was maybe 3 HALF leaves! SMDH 😓 I cannot believe someone would charge $15-$20 for a plant in that shape! But I’ve just been taking care of it just like I do with the rest of my plant babies (300 +) and now I think it’s quite happy! It has 2 NEW leaves coming in and NOOOOO brown spots!! YAYYYY WOOHOO🤩 So what are your CRAZY before and after plants?!? My #Coleus survived the winter and are absolutely unbelievable. I’m not sure he or she will want to go back outside this summer😉My experiment with attempting to root a baby rubber plant cutting in a make shift humidity chamber is looking successful so far #Pepermonia as are the water props but they are coming along slowly. 😜Lastly, it’s my Flame Violet. She’s is growing an awesome Orange flower #Peperomia #AfricanViolet #FlameViolet #PlantTherapy #

I just came home to visit my family for spring break and saw that our african violets are not doing so well. It looks like the one on the left was overwatered and they both need repotting. What should I do? #AfricanViolet

This species of #AfricanViolet has the most gorgeous lemon-lime colored leaves. As you can see they start out a deep green but turn lighter as they mature. The contrast to the variegated flowers is just 😍 #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #HappyPlants

Just wanted to share this little cutie!! I have a “Violet” container with 3 different Violet species. There’s a Sora Fuzzy Face, and Irish Ruffles, and then this one the that has the bloom that I don’t have the name of!! lol If anyone out there reading is a Violet fan and wants to take a shot at naming her, I am all ears!! I just love how the edges are delicate little green frills and then the rest of the flower is pink!! So pretty…😍🤤 Actually, I have a question as well…to my fellow Violet fans out there, how do you guys handle or accomplish “dusting” these kinds of plants? I have 5 cats, 2 of which are long haired and I swear the leaves of a Violet plant act as a magnetic attracter for cat hair!!! Not to mention even just the soil from the pot!! I have a VERY DIFFICULT time keeping them “clean”. I usually end up breaking an otherwise health leaf and get frustrated and give up bc I’m afraid I’ll just end up damaging more leaves. Has anyone out there found a successful way to accomplish it?
