I recent got my plant and is kept right next to window. I recently started to see this dry yellow color on the stem of it. Is it normal?

Help! Had it about 8 weeks. Just started looking like this. Only water a small amount once a week. It was fine when temps were 90-100 6+ hours of sun. Now it's 75, full sun, does drain. Per this app I just gave it about 5 cups of water.

What is the growing season of these when they are indoor plants ?? And does it help them to put them out side when weather is good ?

My plant leaves are turning a browinsh yellow. Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

My plant looks sad :( I'm afraid my Pygmy Date Palm might be a goner after being outside in the 120 degree Vgeas heat. Any suggestions?
