Should I allow my drosera to flower?

How can I save my new spoon-leaved sundew?

Dipper is actually a Collins Sundew, but I couldn't find it in the plant ID section. Poor sundew growing its 12th flower

Dipper is a Collins Sundew! They are sub-tropical sundews native to South Africa who don't experience dormancy. All of my other carnivores go dormant during the winter so I decided growing them outdoors was best. While Dipper loves the warm and humid days we are having right now, he might not appreciate it when it starts cooling down! So, I decided to plant him in his own bog garden and keep him inside under a T8 grow light. The light is about 1 foot above the plants. I added some succulent buddies and a few other plants around him. Welcome to CP Club Thursday #cpclubthursday for this 3rd week of 2024, 20 June 🌟OVER 115 MEMBERS !🌟 FEATURE CP: Dewy Pines Dewy pine is a perennial carnivorous plant that is noted for its sweetly scented aroma used to entice insects to its sticky trap. Dewy pine is unusual for being amongst the only carnivorous species to flourish in drier soils. The dewy pine is definitely not a pine, however, it is quite dewy. Known scientifically as Drosophyllum lusitanicum, this carnivore is odd in more ways than one. It is also growing more and more rare each year. Whereas most carnivorous plants enjoy growing in saturated soils or even floating in water, the dewy pine's preferred habitats dry up completely for a considerably portion of the year. Its entire distribution consists of scattered populations throughout the western Iberian Peninsula and northwest Morocco. We had a slight increase of about 5 new members 👍 And so many new CPs and CP owners, many of whom I have got to know personally as they ask some great CP questions.
