I noticed today a part on my living stones that has caved in and is squishy to the touch. What did I do wrong? Is there any way to fix this?

Good morning. This guy is new to me ordered from the succulent box. About 5 days in my home. I haven’t done anything with it yet. This is my third attempt to raise one. Any advice on what and when to do next. TIA
