#Hoya Discussion

Today “Chubby Baby”💚got his first up-pot ☺️. When I first saw Hoya kerriis I didn’t know some grew and some didn’t because at this greenhouse all stages were together, so I assumed that what I was seeing is what this little leaf 🍃 would grow into. I wasn’t happy when I got home 🏠 and researched it. At the time I was frustrated 😩 because I didn’t know if I had a node or not, almost took it back to the grower! Well a few years later he’s my special little guy who taught me about Hoyas and patience. Here he is from his first day at my house, then his very first leaf, and now today. Hopefully 🤞 many more years with Chubby Baby 💚🥰👍 #HoyaHangout #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #NewGrowth #SucculentLove #BeforeAndAfter #Hoya #HoyaHeads #hoyakerrii #HappyPlace

Decided to make a last minute stop at Home Depot yesterday to check out what houseplants they had. On the very bottom of this one shelf I found a singal hoya compacta hiding. 😍 Hoping I can save her, she’s looking a little rough. #hoya #HoyaHangout #HoyaHeads

How long does it take to grow more and trail?

What is going on with this hoya? Both the white spots and the black ones? How can I fix it? #Hoya #HoyaHangout

Bloom matching the sunny (and hot) day!! First time bloomer for me, glad I remembered to double check on it. I have not bloomed any #hoya callistophylla types before, these flowers are way smaller than I expected!! No scent that I can tell right now. This one is callistophylla “vena”. It’s one of my favorites. I was sad the other week I broke a baby leaf in half on this plant. Someone on here @coffeencalathea where did you go?) told me it’s like letting a balloon go…and I’ll get some more 🎈! So true and now we have a 🌸. #HoyaHangout #HoyaHeads #PlantAddict #HappyPlants #NewGrowth #RarePlants #Blooming

My Hoya Kerrii was delivered June 6th. I'm getting ready to water it but noticed just the stems have developed a grayish white hairy growth spreading. I magnified a picture w/o seeing bugs anywhere on the entire plant. Soil is very dry and looks normal.

Happy #freshleaffriday #greggang from all my #hoya blooms! In no particular order, since I'm not sure how the photos will play out: Hoya #retusa cutting I got a while back tried to bloom last year but it didn't quite work out, so here it is opening just one flower at a time (I managed to catch two in the photo). It's just so cute 🥹 Hoya #lobbii is my OG. My first hoya from one of my first plant friends a decade ago. She has always bloomed and the only reason she doesn't as much now is because I've given away so many cuttings she has to work to make more peduncles. Her blooms always make me feel like I am a good plant parent. [the orange and maroon] Another hoya that started as a cutting is my #wayetii and it put out its first peduncles this spring. I love how over the top long they are compared to others. The flowers are just SO PRECIOUS being round and velvety looking 🥹 Finally, my #sherperdaii a put out ten peduncles last year, maybe more, I lost count. She has been making the first floor of my house sound like someone lit a floral scented candle in every room. So far I think six of the peduncles have flowers, we will see if they all decide to this year. [White bunches with pink centers]. I guess what I'm saying is if you aren't part of the #hoyahangout yet, here is your sign. 🌸🌼🏵️ #happyplants #plantaddict #newgrowth #hoyaheads 🌱 #NewEnglandGregGang 🌱 #NortheastGregGang 🌱 #MaineGang 🌱 #ThePlantMompy

My #WaxPlant is dieing. I’ve only had it two months. Not over watering. Suggestions?

When does this lovely plant start to flower? I recently got a cut off from a friend and it’s doing wonderful. She told me her mother’s used to flower but hers never has….

I unboxed my Hoya Kantiana as usual I washed the leaves and I noticed this “looks like scale maybe? I haven’t encountered scale as of yet and are the black spots from stress or a pest? #HappyPlants
