I just got this beaut yesterday and I noticed large chunks of black in a couple sections. Should I cut them out or is this semi normal? I haven't watered it at all yet.

Does anyone know the specific type of cactus this is I want to make sure it’s a eves needle cactus

What is happening with my needle cactus?
