Ivy loosing leaves

Hi! I’m new to having plants but I recently got this English ivy and it’s not doing well…can someone please help me? :))

Why are the leaves dry

I’ve have it for 2 months yet I feel like it hasn’t really grown? Is this normal?

Anyone had success reviving ivy with the basket method? When I first brought this plant home it was in the direct path of my office heater but I didn’t realize until too late 😅 I’ve since moved it to the window and got a meter to track how damp the soil is and I thought for sure it was a goner but then that itty bitty new leaf popped up last week! I saw someone recommend the basket method for other vine like plants so I figured I’d give it a shot! Pinned the vine to the soil and put the leca on top to hold it in place. This is a total experiment and I’ve already made my peace with losing this ivy if it doesn’t work lol! #EnglishIvy #Ivy #basketmethod #vines
