#PhalaenopsisOrchid Discussion

Yay,just this week I had been getting a bit worried since I have not only been overspending on plants, but also on mite treatments,... just to be honored to be among the Greg gift card recipients. πŸ₯³ more orchids here I come πŸ˜€ And this isn't the only good news. After I might have killed my hoya krohniana during my desperate attempts to find something that works against the little 🀬🀬🀬 (she is still fighting but losing leaves daily and there aren't a lot left), I finally took a deep breath and decided to try one last resort: beneficials. They arrived today: 8000 cucumeris amblyseius mites (I gave 2000 to a friend with thrips problems) . And I am still sane (even though,... who knows how this will develop over time, and not counting preexisting conditions. And .. what is "sane", really?). Furthermore, I already saw some outliers moving down at least one pot with loose bark. Next to my phobias, my main concern was that cucumeris aren't known for going into the medium where a lot of "my" mites seem to have settled down (patio and picket fence and all). I will still have to see how they go about coco coir and soil, but at least Emma's bark was lose enough that they seem to like to hunt down there. Wish me luck. And maybe my krohniana as well. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ #orchidlovers #pestcontrol #hoya #hoyahangout

How do I get my orchids to get new flowers

Look like my have root rot how do I fix it

I had an orchid that I bought on a clearance rack at a big box store. It was so pretty when in bloom. Then I discovered that it had severe root rot after it was done blooming and the plant started declining. Trimmed all the dead roots off and I think there may have been 2 salvageable roots, not even large enough to support the plant. I went ahead and potted it up, using wooden skewers to anchor it in place. Here we are 2 months later, growing 3 new roots! I’m so excited for this one, it was one of my favorites when in bloom. #OrchidLovers #PhalaenopsisOrchid #roots #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #NewGrowth #RootRotSurvivor

Let's see how this goes

Recently, my plant has gotten super crispy from the AC unit and hardened? Is it dead

What kind of pot should I get for my orchid?
