How to trim plant

So I'm propagating a lettuce heart I got from the store. It's in a glass of water currently to get root growth but so far there aren't any. It is growing from the top, though, so there's that. How long should I expect to see roots? It's been 1-2 weeks now

I had made a bird feeder out of wood a few years ago, and now it is rotten. I don't really care about it anymore but inside I found bird seed that had sprouted! So I took it inside and out it in a pot with my 2 Aloe Vera plants and my 1 Ox tongue plant. If she gets too big I will move her into her own pot, but now she grew a ton, and I don't know if I should move her out or not yet. I don't know what I should do 🤷🏽‍♀️???

Can anyone identify this I thought it was spinach as I planted a sprig from some fresh I bought at Safeway No propagating just dug a little dirt and wished for the best

What are these marks on the leaves?

There are black bugs on my lettuce and they’re starting to brown on the edges. Any help for a fresh newbie?

Her leaves are crisp and not like when I got her..is she dead? Tell me I can kinda take it...but there will be a memorial service 😔

I don’t know what’s wrong with her is there any chance of saving?

This is my first time growing lettuce and potatoes. I’m doing everything in pots this year. My 2 year old mix lab likes to dig everything up lol. So far everything is doing great.
