#MedusaHeadAirPlant Discussion

I have previously posted about water (particularly distilled water for eg carnivorous plants and other mineral-sensitive plants) and came across this article which looks at similar issues about drinking water as our plants aren't the only ones that need healthy water choices. https:// #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #propagationstation #newgrowth #greggang #plantmafia #water #h2o #theamigos #seymour

If you find you need a boost, just click and see what others😸😸 can offer with inspirational quotes πŸ€”, inspiring plant ideas πŸŒΉπŸ’πŸŒΈπŸŒ±πŸͺ»πŸͺ΄and anything that just adds to your day.πŸ‘ Welcome to Plant Boost Tuesday As with every Plant Boost Tuesday, I look for some β€œinspiration” and this week it came from two sources. The first comes from the CEO of Greg App, Alex. Alex gave a great interview with Rose Red @LaSiguanaba )and myself where he talk ed about the importance of plans β€œgrounding us” and needing them in our lives. This reminded me of the Romantic poet, Samuel Taylor Coleridge (The Ancient Mariner) who wrote a poem about nature and finding connection to it (the interview with Alex explains how the name Greg is connected to plants…who knew!?!) As Dr Wikipedia says: "This Lime-Tree Bower My Prison" is a poem written by Samuel Taylor Coleridge during 1797. The poem discusses a time in which Coleridge was forced to stay beneath a lime tree while his friends were able to enjoy the countryside. Within the poem, Coleridge is able to connect to his friend's experience and enjoy nature through him, making the lime tree only a physical prison, not a mental one. So as I looked around an ordinary shop, I could find all kinds of connections to plants and nature as I share in the photos below. So what connections did you find today or in yours days to plants and nature in your ordinary experience that give you a plant or nature boost? May i know why this plant never blooms flowers?Thank you!

A SHOWERING SUCCESS or SHOULD SUCH A PROJECT BE SHELVED ?!? New Group: #sayaloetomylittlefrond current population: 1 ! LOL πŸ˜‚ πŸ€£πŸ˜…πŸ‘) I've completed my pet project - shower shelving, maximizing an unused corner of the bathroom. So now there are more than 11 plants where there were none! 1. Boston Fern (clearance) 2. Swiss Cheese Monstera (clearance) 3. Hammock Fern (clearance) 4. Parlour Palm (clearance) 5. Elkhorn Fern (clearance) 6. Phalaenopsis Orchid (propagated from a keiki) 7. Peace Lily (propagated) 8. Medusa Air Plant (clearance) 9. Variegated Orchid (purchased at retail price) 10. Cape Sundew!(and friends) (propagated) 11. Forked Sundew (and friends) (propagated from a Venus Fly Trap pot it sprouted from, nice bonus) There is also dozens of Pygmy sundews being propagated in the two white self-contained grow-light cells with water reservoirs. Lots of babies πŸ‘Ά Cost of shelving unit $29 Aussie (so maybe $17-18 US) at a major retainer (equivalent to Target/Walmart in the US). It even has a little pedestal for my WeTheWild Protect for Orchids spray I just bought (smells lovely) and a little squirt bottle to water them all with distilled water as required. As it’s just installed, I need to relocate and secure the cables and secure the grow-lights but that’s just tidying up. And I need to monitor the amount of light as the growlights will be on 12 hours a day. Humidity is maintained at no less than 60% and as high as 90 plus at times. And all these plants love humidity, can tolerate low light and also help to clean the air (according to NASA and other studies) And the plants also beautify an otherwise sad little useless corner of the bathroom and also ensure that any humidity from eg a shower will be taken up by their leaves. I had room for one more grow light πŸ’‘ so there is even room to expand with about 3-4 plants on are area of shelving. And any excess water is taken up by the plants below and when I spray the orchids with WeTheWild Protect for Orchids excess spray that would otherwise be wasted. Oh, and a great way to increase humidity is to keep plants close together so they mutually support each other. So over to you. Any thoughts? Like it or hate it? What do you think ? Have I missed something ? I did consider a little humidifier but there is no need as the bathroom has gone from excess humidifier requiring me to use a dehumidifiers initially to me considering I need a humidifier just to keep the plants constantly with consistent levels of humidity. Oh and I can also hang some small pots off the shelving if I want some more baby plants like little sundews in tiny little hanging pots ! Not bad for a Saturday afternoon and a few hours to set up . πŸ˜€πŸ‘ Hope my plants like it 🀞 P.S. the sundews are designed to be sentries on the lookout for any fungus gnats or flying insects eg mosquito 🦟 #Seymour #theamigos #cpclubthursday #plantboosttuesday #plantmememonday #SupportGroup #showershelving #bathroombydesign #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #PropagationStation #PlantTherapy #GrowLights #OrchidLovers #MonsteraMonday #GregGang #FernFriends #fernbook #ShowerJungle #bathroomplants #GreggersSupportingGreggers #PLANTMAFIA #OrchidLovers #Monstera #SwissCheeseVine #MonsteraMob #MonsteraMonday #OrchidOrg #PhalaenopsisOrchid #palmlovers #PeaceLily #variegatedplants #variegatedorchid #Sundew #CarnivorousPlants #CarnivorousClub #GrowLights #light #shelves #FreshLeafFriday #FreshFeaturedFriday
