#PhalaenopsisOrchid Discussion

A there any coming g back from one thatโ€™s about to lose all of its flowers?

Hi! Iโ€™m Jade and I just got my first Orchid, I need advice on how to water them as measurement wise(measuring cup) I watched youtube videos and someone recommended 15 minutes, at a certain height. Tips?

Spike๐Ÿค—๐Ÿซข๐Ÿฅณ Vs. or air root๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿซก

My Bella has root rot from pot it came in . I cut off the bad roots, and sprayed the affected stem part that had the rot with Neem Oil, and repotted the plant in a plastic pot with holes & orchid soil. Anything else I should do? Should I cut the flowers?

Bloomless Orchids

To anyone hesitant to cut the spike of a phalaenopsis, be it because of health concerns, overblooming or even just because you want to give the plant a longer vegetative period: I present to you: Winston's spike. I cut it well over a month ago (going on 6 weeks I would guess). Because at this point, he had already been blooming for several months already. During a very very stressful repot while in bloom. If I had left the spike on the plant, it would probably still have been as strong as on the first day. (Sadly to the detriment of the overall health). But just look at that: 6 weeks in a vase. And by no means fresh and young at the starting point. I've said it before, I will say it again: Winston is a beast! And also: do not hesitate to cut the spike of necessary. Many can keep a long time in a vase as well. #phalaenopsisorchid #orchidlovers

Iโ€™m having an issue with these plantsโ€ฆany and all help is greatly appreciated!!

Hi all, I have a Phalaenopsis orchid that was gifted to me. It got root rot. I repotted the plant since (4/19) and it is giving flowers. But I notice it's leaves turning black on leaf folds and edges. Is my orchid beyond saving? :(
