unsure how to repot/what to do

What’s wrong with my pineapple plant? The leaves are turning brown and the fruit it almost toppling the plant over despite supports.

I can’t find any information on what to do once pineapple gets yellow. Do I leave it? Do I cut it off and propergate the plant? Can someone advise?
